Havelok's® Viking Village opened its doors on Saturday 21st September 2024.  A bustling Minster Square was taken back a thousand years to the exciting time of the Vikings.

Havelok's Viking Village saw the Vikings of 'Grim's town' show Viking crafts, netmaking, wood carving, chainmail making as well as Viking cooking and games.

In the battle arena the Vikings displayed skills in weaponry, with spear, sword and shield.  And in the afternoon, Vikings gathered for Grim's Great Parade, leading the Parade of Voluntary and community groups representing the Great of Grim's town.

Havelok's ® Viking Games saw trainee Vikings, kids in action showing their Viking skills in throwing, targets, archery and memory with special prizes and the chance to become a 'A Viking of Grim™'

In the Minster, the special animation of the story and 3D Viking characters of Grim and Havelok were brought to life on screen.

An amazing day in Havelok's Kingdom ®,bringing thousands of visitors to the heart of the town centre...and the sun was shining too!
